What is Kidney Cancer?

Kidney Cancer, also called Renal Cancer, develops when malignant cells form in the tissues of the kidneys. The most common type is Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), which begins in the lining of the small tubes inside the kidney. It is more common in adults and risk factors include smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, and genetic predisposition.

Common Symptoms & Treatments

  • Hematuria: Blood in urine, one of the earliest signs.
  • Flank Pain: Persistent pain in the side or lower back.
  • Lump in Abdomen: Palpable mass near the kidney region.
  • Weight Loss & Fatigue: Unexplained weight loss, tiredness, and fever.
  • Risk Factors: Smoking, obesity, hypertension, long-term dialysis, genetic syndromes.
